Yesterday I decided to tackle an obstacle that has been stopping me from proceeding with my first album. The Mars song. When speaking with a friend of mine, I had him listen to some ideas on what I’d like Mars to be, but he said it should be more epic since Mars is the planet of war. After he had told me this I felt a bit defeated. Not because I can’t handle a bit of constructive criticism, but because I was faced with a decision. Do I create a more “Mars-like” piece and abort my initial desire to only use music created on my RV trip, or do I go ahead and create it, but sticking with the main goal of the album which is use the Jupiter Xm for most of the production. I decided to go with the latter, and created what I had imagined would be the shadow of what Mars once was. I hope you enjoy the journey.
